Kapolei

Kapolei is quickly becoming the urban center of West Oahu! Located on the leeward (west) coast of Oahu, Kapolei is about 15 minutes from Pearl Harbor, 20 minutes from Honolulu International Airport, and 30 minutes from downtown Honolulu. This neighborhood sits on former sugarcane and pineapple fields. Much of the land is now part of the estate of industrialist James Campbell.

The community got it's name from a volcanic cone, Pu'u o Kapolei. Pu'u meaning hill and Kapo lei meaning beloved Kapo, who is according to legend believed to be Pele's sister.
